A lifetime in the water

A passion for others

For almost 50 years, swimming has been an enjoyable and important part of my life, and for the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching others how to swim.

After spending 25 years in the corporate world, I yearned for change and began teaching children how to swim. After a while, I began to notice something that genuinely surprised me:

So many adults in my own community had never learned to swim, or simply didn’t feel confident or safe in the water. This was even true for parents of children who were extremely capable in the water.

A reason to make a difference

One story in particular really hit me..

I heard about a migrant family who lost almost all of its family members while on holiday south of Melbourne, after being caught in a rip. It was a heartbreaking tragedy, and one that touched me personally.

It made me realise that I wanted to do more.. Much more!

I wanted to help many adults develop the skills, confidence and understanding they need to feel safe around water — and to experience all the joy that swimming can bring them.

This became the foundation of Liquid Living Swim School.

Swimming should be for everyone

I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn the skills that can help them stay safe in and around the water. Especially living in Australia and being surrounded by beaches, rivers, lakes and pools It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the water, the freedom it offers, and make it an important part of our lives.

Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or you’re a new Australian discovering our aquatic environments for the first time, I want you to feel that this part of Australian life is yours to enjoy, too.

Learning your way

Liquid Living Swim School is not about putting people under pressure
or expecting everyone to learn in the same generic way.

It’s all about meeting people where they are at.

Some students start quite nervous.
Some are overcoming a fear they’ve carried for years.
Others simply never had the opportunity to learn properly.

What every learner deserves

I believe that learning to swim should be built around empathy, patience, encouragement — and of course, with fun and laughter.

At Liquid Living Swim School, we take the time to understand each person, work through challenges at their own pace, celebrate their progress, and help them discover that the water can be a place of confidence, enjoyment and freedom.

Swimming is much more than just good technique..

It’s about Confidence. Safety. Joy. Freedom . Belonging.  Community.

Our Simple Vision

Bring people together through swimming, and help more adults
discover a part of Australian life they may have previously felt excluded from.

No pressure. No judgement. No stress.
Just a welcoming place to learn, grow in confidence, and have fun
